An Internal Application Error Occurred When Trying To Bring Up Windows Media Player 10 I Only Get An Error Message.?

When trying to bring up windows media player 10 I only get an error message.? - an internal application error occurred

An internal application error has occurred!
What does this mean?
I have no sound at all.
And how can I solve this problem?
Any information is appreciated

    Download the latest version of Windows Media Player (11) at www.microsoft.com

    Installation of your sound card drivers.install Media Player again. then try to run it.

    Get the latest codecs. And if that fails, reinstall the player, then install the codec pack the latest Professional mode.
